France-IX Association
The France-IX Association is a not-for-profit organisation. Its main objective is set out in its articles of association: the association promotes private and public use of the French and French-speaking networks, and federates and leads local and global network interconnection players.
To achieve this, France-IX Association :
- animates the community of members by facilitating the sharing of expertise and experience,
- sharing technical and operational information and sector intelligence,
- participates in and organises information events, as well as technical and outreach training, to bring together French and international Internet players and promote the development, innovation and security of Internet services.
France IX Services SASU
(SASU - Société par Actions Simplifiée Unipersonnelle) :
It is a commercial entity created by France-IX Association. The SASU is a form of company in France characterised by a single shareholder, in this case France-IX Association. The purpose of creating France IX Services is to operate and manage the France-IX IXP (Internet Exchange Point) in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring that commercial and operational aspects are managed according to industry standards.
The Executive Chairman of France IX Services is Frank Simon.
Governance is ensured by a Strategic Committee (SC) comprising :
- 4 representatives of the Association, the sole shareholder, including the Chairman of the Committee,
- 3 independent directors recruited by the association for their specific skills and neutrality.
Today, France IX Services has almost 40 professionals serving the peering ecosystem in France and a strong national IXP that also brings together a large number of foreign customers.

IXP FranceIX
This is the Internet exchange point itself. An IXP is a physical infrastructure through which different Internet networks can exchange traffic with each other. These exchanges take place directly, without going through third parties, which improves efficiency, reduces costs and lowers latency.
The IXP FranceIX is managed and operated by France-IX ServicesIt works under the aegis of the France-IX Association for important decisions.
